If you’ve never ordered printing online before, the process can feel like a black box — you upload something, pay, and hope for the best days later. It shouldn’t feel that way. Here’s exactly what happens between clicking “order” and having cards in hand, so there are no surprises.

Step 1: Pick your specs

Before anything else, you’ll choose the details that actually affect how the card feels and looks:

  • Paper stock — uncoated, kraft, gloss, soft-touch or spot UV (see our paper stock guide if you’re unsure)
  • Sides — single or double-sided
  • Corners — sharp or rounded
  • Quantity — smaller runs cost more per card; larger runs bring the per-unit price down

None of these are locked in until checkout, so it’s worth comparing a couple of combinations before you commit.

Step 2: Upload your artwork

You can upload a print-ready file directly on the product page — PDF, AI, SVG, PNG or JPG all work. If you don’t have a finished design yet, that’s fine too: use the free online editor to build one from a template, or ask our design team for help.

If you’re supplying your own file, it’s worth a quick check against our artwork prep guide — resolution, bleed and colour mode are the three things most likely to trip up a first-time file.

Step 3: We check it before anything prints

This is the step most other print shops skip. Once your order comes in, our team reviews the actual file — not just that it uploaded, but that it’s genuinely print-ready. If something’s off (low resolution, missing bleed, a font that didn’t embed), we catch it here, before a single card is printed.

Step 4: You get a free digital proof

You’ll receive a digital proof by email showing exactly what will go to press. Nothing prints until you approve it. This is your last chance to catch a typo, adjust a colour, or make a small change — take your time here.

Step 5: Production — 14 business days

Once you approve the proof, your order goes into production. From that point, it’s a fixed 14 business days until your cards are ready — no vague “2–3 weeks” estimate, just a number you can plan around.

Step 6: Shipping or pickup

You choose at checkout: have your order shipped, or pick it up free at our Mississauga location. Either way, we’ll email you as soon as it’s ready.

Reordering is faster

Once you’ve placed an order, reordering the exact same cards (or the same setup with an updated name or number) takes a fraction of the time — no need to re-upload or reconfigure anything from scratch.
